The Fifth Squad is investigating a robbery that occurred on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 9:39 PM, in Elmont.
At that time, according to detectives, an unknown male subject inside Wendy’s, 199 Hempstead Turnpike, produced a handgun and jumped over the counter, demanding that the cashiers and manager relinquish money from the register and cash boxes. The subject also took a touch-screen cell phone from a customer before fleeing the restaurant, on foot.
There were no reported injuries to the 3 employees or 4 customers present inside the restaurant at the time. The subject is described as male, black, approximately 5’9”, wearing a bucket-type hat, red shirt, dark denim shorts, carrying a back pack.
